If you want to spend a nice evening with friends, family or your partner, one of the places that I recommend is by far the Taverna Pane e Vino, located in the historic center of Cortona.
breathe a great atmosphere, hot in this room made from the cellars of an old building in 1300, located directly opposite the historic theater Luca Signorelli. I assure you that every time I go there (and now will be 8-9 years), I am surprised the simple, yet refined dishes you can choose from a menu that changes seasonally. Then there is genuineness. Tastes, smells, tables and chairs in wood and stone walls. Plurimenzionato in industry guides, in magazines and newspapers (from "Inns of Italy's Slow Food at the Corriere della Sera, also passing for" Restaurants of Italy by Gambero Rosso), this place should be savored as the town where it is located, the beautiful and famous Cortona , and the dishes it offers. If not then you are teetotalers, well, here you can pick any number, choosing from one of the most qualified of wines from all over the province of Arezzo, who in his paper has more than 550 labels and over 900 wines. Again, I have never been disappointed:)
The way I see it, you'll see, were you the first time we'd go with a dozen friends who love to eat and drink and an order to each of them a plate different then hear all. Why is everyone so much, so much stuff. Trust me on that one food is never wrong. If I have to choose a dish from the menu to reach the Spring 2010, I recommend: Bruschetta - toasted bread with cheese and a truffle sauce + 1 toast with lard (you can choose 2 bruschetta choice among the proposals), cured meat and cheese - Prosciutto di Cinta Senese with a selection of goat FIRST COURSE OF GRANDMOTHER - Pici with breadcrumbs (anchovy, bread and pepper); ALTERNATIVE Chianina - Chianina tartare (with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, capers and black olives) to continue ... - Thin slices of zucchini and pecorino salad; DELL'ISOLINA DESSERTS - Chocolate Cake Pistocchi Florence (without sugar, eggs, butter and flour). Obviously if you take a dish for each course will not escape alive, partly because they abbaondanti (more optimal point). If you then go in the winter, I recommend also the bruschetta with beans and smoked herring, the grilled cheese with bacon and Catalan cream with cookies.
